KYOCERA AVX ceramic capacitors are commonly used in DC-DC converters, which can be found in nearly every subsystem of electric vehicles (EVs). 

Automotive EV/HEV Solutions

KYOCERA AVX Automotive EV / HEV Solutions covers a range of applications, including power conversion, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), lighting, active body control, and powertrain. These EV / HEV electronics face unique design challenges regarding communication, circuit protection, and higher operating voltages compared to traditional automotive electronics.

SCM Series-Connected SuperCapacitors

KYOCERA AVX SCM Series-Connected SuperCapacitors provide a capacitance range of 0.47F to 7.5F and an operating temperature range of up to +85°C with voltage derating. The series offers extended backup time, longer battery life, and instantaneous power pulses as needed. These electrochemical, double-layer modules feature excellent pulse power handling characteristics thanks to the combination of high capacitance and low equivalent series resistance (ESR). KYOCERA AVX SCM SuperCapacitors can be used by themselves or in conjunction with primary or secondary batteries. Applications include energy harvesting, UPS / industrial, wireless alarms, remote metering, toys and games, and much more.
