The features include dynamic power control (DPC), adaptive waveform control (AWC), adaptive receiver control (ARC), and fully automatic error message decoder (EMD) error handling. NXP PN5180A0xxC3/C4 Full NFC Front-End ICs ensure maximum interoperability for the next generation of NFC-enabled mobile phones and are optimized for point-of-sale (POS) terminal applications. The series also implements a high-power NFC front-end functionality that allows achieving EMV compliance on the RF level.

High-Power NFC IC PN5180

NXP Semiconductors NFC IC PN5180 is a highly integrated high-power output NFC frontend IC for contactless communication at 13.56MHz. This integrated circuit implements the RF functionality and all low-level functionality to realize an NFC Forum-compliant reader. The PN5180 ensures maximum interoperability for the next generation of NFC-enabled mobile phones. The IC is optimized for point of sales terminal applications. The NXP PN5180 supports the vicinity protocol according to ISO/IEC 15693 and ISO/IEC 18000-3 MODE 3. It also implements a configurable temperature sensor. The chip allows different supply voltages for NFC drivers, internal supply, and host interface providing flexibility.
